A little bit about us...

Nina Bale - Head Honcho

What can I say, printing is in the blood! My family have been involved in the print industry for over 50 years and given my keen eye for detail and passion for art it made perfect sense to marry the two and so... Ginger was born!

Michael Cunnane - Print Guru

Well, I’ve been working with print now for over 20 years and I have the grey hairs to prove it!  All joking aside, I really enjoy working with print, there’s something altogether satisfying when you see the end result exceed client’s expectations.

What is Giclée...

Well, technically ‘Giclee’ is another name for ink-jet; in the same way that ‘Lingerie’ is another name for underwear. ‘Giclée’ is simply the French word that is used to differentiate between the exquisite and the ordinary versions of the same thing. In fact, the word ‘Giclée’ actually means ‘to spray’ or ‘to squirt’ (which is how an ink-jet printer works).

Make a Digital File…

The finished print will only ever be as good as the digital image used. Which is why it is of paramount importance that the quality of the image capture be first rate. Here at Ginger we work with a Fuji Lanovia C-550 high definition scanner, which provides wonderful digital files capturing the tiniest details, and with Mikey’s years of scanning experience we offer the best start to producing the perfect prints.

Colour Proofing...

Once the Image Capture is complete and we have your painting/ drawing as a digital file the next step is to adjust the colours on the digital file and print proofs on your chosen material. We will then ask you to come in and give us the thumbs up. This is part of the Image Capture process, we do not charge for this part of the service.

Here at Ginger...

We print with the Epson Stylus-Pro 9900. With 11 lightfast inks it provides us with a large colour gamut and up to 75 years of life for colour prints and in excess of 100 years for black & white prints. We have the great pleasure of having even more colour at our fingertips.
